What is Botulinum toxin?This is a neurotoxin that is injected in small doses into muscles and temporarily paralyzes them, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

How does Botox work?By blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles, Botox prevents muscle contraction which results in a temporary smoothing of wrinkles and lines.

What areas can Botox be used?Botox is commonly used to treat wrinkles and lines on the face, including forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, bunny lines, chin dimpling, a downturned smile, overactive neck and jaw muscles.

What can I expect during my first appointment?Dr. Cameron will discuss your treatment goals and make an individualized plan that is within your specific budget. She will take photos of your face at rest and with activation of the muscles that cause wrinkles. The target muscle will be marked with an erasable pen and the injections themselves will only take a few minutes.

When will I notice results?You may notice results within 24-48 hours of your treatment. Most results take up to 14 days to see.

Is there any downtime after my treatment?There is minimal downtime after treatment with neuromodulators. You may have local redness to the injection site and less commonly small bruising can occur.

How long do results last?On average results last 3 months. The longevity of your treatment results is patient specific and depends on many variables including: level of physical activity, regular sauna or hot tub use, medications and your specific metabolism.

How does pricing work?You will be charged $11/unit of Botox or Dysport used. Most treatments range from 30-40 units on average to achieve a natural result with relaxation of facial muscles that are causing your lines.

What are the potential side effects?Side effects can include minor and temporary redness, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Potential much less common side effects include a droopy eyelid, headache, brow droop, blurred or double vision and allergic reaction.
